Torn EHL, Need laymens terms for this on the findings

Sorry, I do not have the imaging right now. Can anyone water this statement down? I do not understand from "with" through end of sentence.

Completely torn extensor hallucis longus with retraction of the proximal component to the level of the tibiotalar joint and about 6.7 cm

ETA: I am aware that I am having surgery for this. :(
