Need a career. Medical issues thwarted progress for years. Looking into Radiology. Experienced individuals are welcome to comment!
I am a 42 yo lady, looking to start my life up again! I have more than 3.5 yrs of study st The Evergreen State College. I need about 2 more classes to finish my BA. I stopped school almost 29 years ago for reasons that are too complicated to go into. I am about to have two surgeries on my ribs to fix some pain and symptoms I had for nore than a decade (because it is a rare syndrome, it was very hard to get a diagnosis.). After the surgeries, I SHOULD have a much better "new normal" and right now I am trying to plan what I will DO, when I join the league of able-bodied, non-chronic-pain people and re-enter LIFE! ๐. So... I have not worked for about 6 years. My last job was as an apprentice in commercial plumbing (essentially, hardcore construction work). I worked in hotel administration and guest services for a long time prior to that. I have zero hospital or medical experience. I am pretty smart. I am curious and capable of learning. My almost-bachelor of arts is very general and vague. I studied mostly literature and culture. I may have some credits from a school nearby that were acquired toward an AAS just from my plumbing apprenticeship studies...
My main question is: what is the best route for me to go, school-wise, to get the credits and certification I need to become an MRI Tech or similar? What do I need to be prepared for regarding becoming an MRI Tech? I plan to finish my BA pretty quickly and nove on to this new journey... Please comment with your advice, experience, and ideas for me. Thank you!
