Thinking about switching to rad tech program

I’ve been taking prereqs for nursing some of which are also prereqs for the rad tech program at the community college I attend. I know that it’s very competitive but I don’t think there’s a waitlist because it’s mentioned that we have to apply every year. I don’t think I want to go into nursing I know that there’s a lot more opportunities but I just don’t see myself being a nurse. I think rad tech is a better fit I really enjoy anatomy. I also looked into sonography but I would have to wait longer for that since the only program near me opens once per year while the rad tech program open twice per year. I have a couple of questions but any advice is helpful. 1. Do you enjoy your career? What would you rate on a scale of 1-10? 2. What’s are your favorite and least favorite things about being a rad tech? 3. What kind of job do you have? Have you tried multiple modalities and which one was your favorite? 4. Is it a really saturated field or does it depend on where you live? 5. Do you regret your career choice? Would you pick something different if you could go back? 6. What’s your work life balance like? 7. I’m worried about the cancer risk is it a high risk or does it hold the same risk as someone getting an x ray done? (I’m pretty sure the risk is very low for someone who’s getting it done) I researched a bit but I only found old studies. 8. Do you think this career could be phased out by AI? It seems some believe it might but I don’t think that’s true I’d rather hear opinions directly from rad techs.

AI for radiology - A survey

Hello folks! We are a group of students from Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University (Sweden). We are conducting a short survey (it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time) to evaluate an Artificial Intelligence framework for evaluating medical imaging and, in particular, the effect that explainability can have on clinicians' attitudes toward it. We welcome anyone who interacts with medical imaging to take our survey, so please, feel free to do it even if you are still a student or an intern! If you know someone who works in the field, please, pass them the survey. It would help us greatly. https://bit.ly/RTEX_survey Thanks in advance to all of you! submitted by /u/francozzz [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/r2ratp/ai_for_radiology_a_survey/
