I’m just a little confused third year bunny please read

I am interested in breast cancer. It’s the field I am most passionate about because it hits close to home. I can read about, research, talk, study breast cancer all day. I want to be an expert in the field. Here are my thoughts on the different paths to get time to a fruitful career in breast cancer.

1) Breast Radiology: I would get to interact with women and have direct patient care. I have a great, bubbly, energetic, optimistic personality which I think can be a positive in this field. What I am scared of is I hope radiology residency isn’t isolating. I’m not the biggest fan of sitting in a dark room by myself feeling like a work horse cranking out imaging.

2) that leads me to point 2: IM route. This is a viable option. I am not super interested in the day to day pathologies of IM and the brunt work. I do like feeling like a team and interacting with all different kinds of people. I like how when we have down time in IM we can have some comradre with our team and chill and make jokes.

3) I ruled out general surgery. I kept forcing myself to like it but it felt like I was forcing myself on a kale juice cleanse and the second I came off it I felt alive again.

So my questions are:

1) did you feel radiology residency was boring or lonely??

2) what made you choose radiology over IM or another specialty you were considering.

I’m really just hoping to find some clarity!! Any help would be great.

Thank you!! Love you guys lots and appreciate your time. ❤️💖❤️

AI for radiology - A survey

Hello folks! We are a group of students from Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University (Sweden). We are conducting a short survey (it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time) to evaluate an Artificial Intelligence framework for evaluating medical imaging and, in particular, the effect that explainability can have on clinicians' attitudes toward it. We welcome anyone who interacts with medical imaging to take our survey, so please, feel free to do it even if you are still a student or an intern! If you know someone who works in the field, please, pass them the survey. It would help us greatly. https://bit.ly/RTEX_survey Thanks in advance to all of you! submitted by /u/francozzz [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/r2ratp/ai_for_radiology_a_survey/
