I had hand radiographs taken the other day. The tech gave me a 1/2 shield for my lap, but no eye or thyroid shielding. Is it normal to be more concerned about gonads and the potential harm on future offspring than on the lens or thyroid of the actual patient? For reference I'm 37F and a Veterinary DI resident. Here I am trying to enforce PPE use in my staff when human med doesn't even shield the patient? Was standard of practice met in this case?
