How can I contribute to this subreddit?

Hey dudes and colleagues, I'm finding it way too hard to contribute here, ya'll have some advice for me? My posts keep getting taken down for either #3 or #1. I tried to post a MRI of rare ruptured triceps tendon, first I wrote the cause which was Crossfit, like "crossfit is dangerous" and it got taken down for #3. So I re-uploaded it with "Ruptured Triceps Tendon" and it also got removed for #3. Now I tried to submit a pretty cool look at a 17 weeks old fetus kidney inside their mother, "MRI kidney of 17 weeks old fetus" and it got removed for #3. I've been in radiology for the last 10 years I have so many interesting cases and images I want to share but how?? Help me please :) The mods havn't replied. submitted by /u/wolfho [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/165eik8/how_can_i_contribute_to_this_subreddit/

Are older patients desensitized to fracture pain?

Being a noob on this sub I often see radiologists talk about older patients with old bay healed fractures, or with bad fractures only reporting minor discomfort. This sparked a research idea but I cannot find any published confirmation anywhere of this actually being a thing - older patients’ reports of pain not matching severity of fractures. Sometimes this job is sad

This 84 y/o texas man was still able to eat his weekly rib-eye

This 84 y/o presented to our office (H&N surgery) to establish care. He recently moved from another state to live with his son, and was diagnosed with this pleomorphic adenoma three years ago, which he opted to monitor it instead of getting it removed. On physical exam the patient had a visible left pharyngeal mass that completely displaced the uvula to the right… that’s all you could see: tongue, teeth and the mass. But, he didn’t have any airway issues, and was still able to eat normally… including his “weekly ribeye”. What can a SPECT CT see?

Hi - layperson here. I was treated with radioactive iodine about 9 mos ago and as part of that treatment, had a whole body scan AND a spect Ct of most of my body (not brain or legs). I understand the mechanism, but curious if a SPECT CT would have shown other things also? Just a quick story of what NOT to do

About 6 years ago (at age 23F) I came into the ER with a sudden, extreme headache. Fortunately they called a stroke code and got me into CT immediately. As I was moved out of the tube, the rad tech said, “I never know how to say this kind of thing… you have a bleed in your brain. Is there anyone you want us to call?” I said, “I don’t know, am I going to die?!” To which he replied, “no… I don’t know. The team will take care of you.” Needless to say, it was extremely scary and vague for me to hear! Why would my first priority be to call someone? The ARRT VI Exam is Terrible!

Just took it this morning. It was, hands down, the hardest test I've ever taken (and that includes micro/macro economics and the general registry). So many questions took forever to figure out, and I second guessed myself on even the easy stuff. Like I had a moment where even something super basic I learned in the first month of training had me wondering of I really knew the answer or if I was really dumb and didn't read the question correctly! Literally no single book/practice test package could have prepared me. These are just the books used (Gigi included for scale) to study! Not shown are the insane amount of practice tests on Exam Edge, the Vascular Interventional Society practice test, and the ASRT Vascular-Interventional Essentials Series (the most expensive out of everything btw). Plus, I could not calm down the entire test! I hobestly wish I could have worn a heart rate monitor to record it, pretty sure I had higher rates than I get in spin class. Thankfully,

How big is the importance of talent in radiology?

Hey, introduction so I was thinking today about the role of talent vs craftmanship and knowledge in various professions. By talent I mean the born and acquired in early development biology traits, like intelligence or ability to evaluate decisions quickly. Those are not of course fixed throughout our lifetimes, but we can't escape that: some people are just more talented than others. Without necessary talents you won't be i.e an orchestra conductor. I used to ask like many "how hard is it to be an anesthesiologist? You just measure the drug, right?". Today I went on a dive to discover hardness in some medical professions. So now I realize the quick decision making and just pure mental processing powers and situation awareness needed for the job of an anesthesiologist. It's also not that hard to note talent traits in all types of surgeons - you need to have multiple plans always, adjust and come up with new plans, quickly make decisions and so on. question ab
