Received abdominal CT Scan with contrast yesterday. Extremely Nauseous!

Yesterday I had an abdominal CT scan with contrast done due to having stomach pain, indigestion, bloating, not feeling completely emptied out, and excessive gas that has been going on for months. I was given an IV of the contrast dye and literally almost threw up on myself. I’ve never experienced anything like that before.

The scan only lasted about 20 seconds! I really hope the tech got good images because the study was so short. Is this normal??

After having the ct scan done I got some food and was extremely nauseated and almost threw up eating the food.

It is the next day and I am still extremely nauseated, constipated, and fatigued. Is this normal? If so, how long does this last?

Do rad techs/sonographers deal with vomit often?

Hi there! I’m currently considering going to school to be a rad tech or sonographer but I’m struggling to find out if you guys deal with vomit a lot. I am emetophobic (phobia of vomit) and, while I think I’d like these jobs a lot, it does worry me to think about having to deal with it often. Thank you for your help! submitted by /u/pootscoot1 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/p5y0aa/do_rad_techssonographers_deal_with_vomit_often/
