I’m a 20 year old male, I play sports and am very active. Around a month ago I was playing a football game and broke my hand, but it broke very easily, I don’t even remember how it broke it happened so fast, I got an x ray some days later and my hand was broken, upon returning to the hospital 4 weeks later for another x ray, my doctor noticed 2 lumps on my hand and said they are both enchondroma, one is on my finger and one is just below my knuckle, the one on my finger has been there since I was a child but I’m not so sure about the other one, I feel no pain, I don’t even notice they are there and they don’t affect an aspect of my life, he said I will need to get both removed and get an MRI, and that I will also have to keep a close eye on them for the rest of my life, I’m very worried they could be cancerous even though I’ve been told by my personal doctor that she doesn’t think they’re cancerous. My main concern is that I have 2 enchondroma and not just the one. How rare is this? [link] [comments] |
