I think I’m done with imaging as a career

It’s coming to a point where I don’t want to do this anymore. It seems as a profession, we are seeing more patients, doing more exams than ever, for the worst reasons. There’s little to no ability to advocate for patients or have any sense of autonomy in the workplace. Our department was somehow over budget last quarter and now we are being asked yet again to do more with less without any kind of compensation. I have asked around to several other tech friends who also work in hospitals and it seems like this is the general consensus. Of course there are places that have aspects that are better, but it seems to be a trend across our profession. For reference, I work at a level 2 trauma center doing x-ray and CT and I’ve done it for 6 years now. I suppose the point of this is to ask what my fellow technologists are doing. Has anyone found a different position or different job after being a tech and enjoy it more? Are we all just putting our heads down and taking it on the chin? I can’t see many more years of sticking around in imaging.

AI for radiology - A survey

Hello folks! We are a group of students from Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University (Sweden). We are conducting a short survey (it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time) to evaluate an Artificial Intelligence framework for evaluating medical imaging and, in particular, the effect that explainability can have on clinicians' attitudes toward it. We welcome anyone who interacts with medical imaging to take our survey, so please, feel free to do it even if you are still a student or an intern! If you know someone who works in the field, please, pass them the survey. It would help us greatly. https://bit.ly/RTEX_survey Thanks in advance to all of you! submitted by /u/francozzz [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/r2ratp/ai_for_radiology_a_survey/
