If a CT of the chest was done (for chest pain, R/O CV stuff) and of the abdomen (R/O kidney stones)… could either of these studies be re-reviewed for neurological pathologies? Say, neural foraminal narrowing? Like, hypothetically if the patient later had an MRI that showed T7/8/9 herniations with stenosis/cord compression (patent foramina, but hella bilateral neuro symptoms) could a second radiologist review the past CTs from a neuro perspective? The radiologist reviewing the first only did an acute care review and his report is detailed in the areas of interest only, in other areas (with no known pathology) says “no clinically suspicious findings” and in areas of known pathology says “no clinically acute findings.”
Not asking for medical advice, just technical perspective. Can this review from a different “lens” be done? Or is there some difference in how the CT is done that it’s focused on specific areas only, to the exclusion of other areas?
Thank you, all!!
