This is kind of a vent, but I started my OR rotation of training this week and felt like I was really starting to get the hang of it. I had a few difficult cases tho and I’m dying inside.
I came down on the instruments yesterday with the c arm during a lateral femur procedure and the surgical assistant had to have a talk to my supervising tech about it.
Today I hit the patient’s head with the c arm during a shoulder procedure. I didn’t think it was that bad but there was a collective “ooooh🫢” when it happened and the scrub tech insisted the anesthesiologist check the patient’s head.
I’m trying really hard to pay attention to all angles and movements of the c arm but it’s so difficult. I am super embarrassed and worried I’m already making a bad name for myself in front of the surgeons/techs/etc.
Words of encouragement or advice appreciated thx
