Radiologists in the USA, what's the scope of work if one is Not Subspecialized vs Subspecialized in Radiology?
For example, I read that there is a subspecialty called "Abdominal Imaging Radiology" and "Musculoskeletal Imaging Radiology". Does that mean that a Radiologist in that subspecialty only does that? Does that also mean that non-specialized Radiologists cannot do that?
Subspecialties (according to AAMC):
- Abdominal Imaging Radiology
- Cardiothoracic Radiology
- Clinical Informatics
- Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology
- Interventional Radiology
- Medical Physics
- Musculoskeletal Imaging Radiology
- Neuroradiology
- Nuclear Radiology
- Pain Medicine
- Pediatric Radiology
- Radiation Oncology
