Hey there, I was wondering if you could help, and if you can thank you so much.
Firstly I'm not studying radiology or anything healthcare related.
But I have a project and if anyone could point me to reputable, citable, open sources I would be so happy.
I'm confused about a few things and I'm struggling to find the answers.

Is it wrong to discuss contrast media and compare them to radionuclides? Are they even radionuclides? Are some not?

I've been seeing conflicting information. Either that low energy x-ray photons are more harmful because they are much more likely to attenuate and be ionising. Or that high energy photons are more dangerous even though they are less likely to attenuate. But also high energy photons are more dangerous because dangerous. But then I've also read somewhere that high energy photons are used for soft tissue imaging because they are more likely to attenuate at soft tissue.

Are different attenuation mechanisms used for different things? My textbook says pair production is used for cancer treatment but I can't find that anywhere else. Are the photoelectric effect and Compton scatter the types of attenuation you'd normally get? Is there more danger associated with any particular type over another?
Thank you!
