I work for a group of hand surgeons that sees all ages. Sometimes I'll have to x-ray toddlers and babies, who obviously don't like holding still or being restrained. I usually have the parent hold the extremity in place and that can work, but doesn't always. For example, I have the most trouble getting good thumb views. It's easier to hold the hand down for a finger - for a thumb they just wiggle and bend that thing to their heart's content. Parent can't hold it 'cause then their hand is covering the thumb. Quite frustrating. Any tips? TIA!
