This pertains to iodine contrast.
Does anyone have links to peer reviewed articles that discuss the differences between oral and IV contrast in regard to the potential for nephrotoxicity and anaphylactoid reactions?
There is a plethora of information about IV contrast and its effects. I want a thorough explanation on how oral contrast is different on the body and why. I have been told oral contrast has a very low rate of absorption so it minimally impacts the body. Okay, but show me the articles that explain this in more detail.
