The question :
An enhanced CT scan of an adult head shows an irregular shaped low-density mass with extensive vasgoenic edema. Which type of tumor is this likely to be?
A. MENINGIOMA B. GLIOBLASTOMA C. METS D. ASTROCYTOMA
so I've narrowed it down to for sure not being A (no vasogenic edema with meningiomas), or C (bc contrast will be homogenous enhancment).
Glioblastomas, according to my manual, has vasogenic edema, is multi lobulated with areas of central necrosis. With contrast, it displays heterogenous, irregular ring enhancement of lesion.
Astrocytomas have little to no enhancement. However, high grade forms appear heterogenous, enhance with contrast and have vasogenic edema and mass effect.
Am I reading too much into it ? I'm so confused.
