Tips for finding employment?

New grad here what are some best ways to find out who is hiring? I've looked on hiring sites like indeed are there any other sites to check out? Should I just call the department manager and ask? The only jobs I've had in the past were straight paper applications so the hiring process is very intimidating to me. Some tips would be awesome! I am located in the Austin TX area
