I have been looking to get a diploma in diagnostic medical sonography or medical radiography.
However, I don’t meet the admission requirement. Currently enrolled in some college trying to get all math and sciences courses done again with hopefully high GPA. As well as getting some volunteering done along the way.
I’m now 24 and wanting to get straight into the field but I see lots techs with bachelors degree before they entered the field. My original thought is to get a bachelor in science, Behavioural Neuroscience (just something I’m interested as well) before I go into sonography/radiography.
My questions are: Would having a degree help me in any ways in the field? Is having a degree really necessary? Or is doing bachelors waste of money and time if my goal is sonography/radiography?
