Not looking for medical answers, looking for general answers to common radiology terms being used in an MRI

(1) I am just curious on what part of the MRI would Optical Nerves would be under? Would it be Visualized Sinuses? Or is that Orbits?

(2) What does it mean for sinus to be assymetic hypoplasia (I AM NOT ASKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE OR A DIAGNOSIS) I am just wondering what hypoplasia means. Google says its an underdevelopment of an organ? So does that mean its smaller in nature to the opposing side?

(3) What does Atelectasis mean? It says Google that it's a collapse of... so now I am a bit confused lol.

It says that they noticed a asymetrical hypoplasia (in the visualized sinuses) versus atelecatsis of the left maximillary sinus. So without asking for MY personal medical diagosis or advice, does this mean that they're saying they see the right side is smaller than the left side in this sinus? Thank you

Do rad techs/sonographers deal with vomit often?

Hi there! I’m currently considering going to school to be a rad tech or sonographer but I’m struggling to find out if you guys deal with vomit a lot. I am emetophobic (phobia of vomit) and, while I think I’d like these jobs a lot, it does worry me to think about having to deal with it often. Thank you for your help! submitted by /u/pootscoot1 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/p5y0aa/do_rad_techssonographers_deal_with_vomit_often/

Radiology program

I’m from New York looking to attend a Rad tech program. I work for Northwell and recently came across a flyer for John Patrick University. it is an online AS program with clinicals in person (which my job will allow me to do) It seems as if this program is not accredited by JCERT but the school is accredited by ACCSC. I reached out to the director of the school and also the arrt and they say that there would be no issue taking boards. I haven’t really heard of anyone going through online program so I wanted to make sure everything checks out. Since this was being advertised at work I couldn’t see why they would put something that wouldn’t be accepted out.
