An MRI tech I know is a danger to patients

I know a guy who got fired from multiple MRI travel jobs because he’d always do something…sexually harassed a patient who turned out to be a doctor, fell asleep while a patient was getting an MRI done and blamed it on his phone not waking him up, smoking were, etc. The list goes on.

He’s been reported to ARRT at least 3 times, and somehow he’s always gotten out of it. He’s a legit danger to patients. He told current coworkers that he smokes crystal meth and did an exam without a script. When ARRT contacted his employer, they lied and covered for him.

I just got screenshots of texts he sent 5 years ago, sharing MRI images that had the patient’s name and birthday on there. Those got reported to ARRT, too, but I can’t believe he keeps getting away with everything.

While I’m personally just pissed that he’s never had to own up to his issues, it’s a matter of time before he harasses another patient or does something worse than leaving a patient locked in the MRI room for 30 minutes because he fell asleep.

Does anyone have any advice? He shouldn’t be a tech. Anywhere. He does drugs, more than just pot. But instead of ARRT actually trying to investigate, they just took his employer’s word for it and let it go.

AI for radiology - A survey

Hello folks! We are a group of students from Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University (Sweden). We are conducting a short survey (it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time) to evaluate an Artificial Intelligence framework for evaluating medical imaging and, in particular, the effect that explainability can have on clinicians' attitudes toward it. We welcome anyone who interacts with medical imaging to take our survey, so please, feel free to do it even if you are still a student or an intern! If you know someone who works in the field, please, pass them the survey. It would help us greatly. https://bit.ly/RTEX_survey Thanks in advance to all of you! submitted by /u/francozzz [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/r2ratp/ai_for_radiology_a_survey/
