Well, it’s almost that time again…

Okay Reddit techs, that time of year is nearly here again. You know what I mean, the time of year when our hospital organizations show their gratitude for all we do for them, when our Radiologists shower us with praise for the amazing job we do getting quality images in sometimes near-impossible situations, and when our nursing cohorts show us that they too respect the dedication we make to our patients every day.

Or absolutely none of that.

IT’S RAD TECH WEEK!!

I know it’s a bit early, but I’m curious to know what your employers typically do to show their support, if anything. I’ll start:

This year, as a traveler, the department I’m in has just announced that staff members will receive…wait for it…a T-shirt with the organization logo that can be worn twice a month!!! Travelers are not entitled to this, but we have been given the gracious opportunity to purchase one at the amazing discount of 10% off! Oh, thank you corporate overlords for this humbling chance at greatness!

Also, radiologists, do your techs a favor: don’t even have to buy anything, just make a point this year to recognize your techs. A little gratitude goes a long way!

Anyone else wanna share their morale-inspiring tech weeks?

Do rad techs/sonographers deal with vomit often?

Hi there! I’m currently considering going to school to be a rad tech or sonographer but I’m struggling to find out if you guys deal with vomit a lot. I am emetophobic (phobia of vomit) and, while I think I’d like these jobs a lot, it does worry me to think about having to deal with it often. Thank you for your help! submitted by /u/pootscoot1 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/p5y0aa/do_rad_techssonographers_deal_with_vomit_often/

Radiology program

I’m from New York looking to attend a Rad tech program. I work for Northwell and recently came across a flyer for John Patrick University. it is an online AS program with clinicals in person (which my job will allow me to do) It seems as if this program is not accredited by JCERT but the school is accredited by ACCSC. I reached out to the director of the school and also the arrt and they say that there would be no issue taking boards. I haven’t really heard of anyone going through online program so I wanted to make sure everything checks out. Since this was being advertised at work I couldn’t see why they would put something that wouldn’t be accepted out.
