XR techs- "So how long have you been doing this?"

I had a weird day. Maybe once a month a patient asks me "how long have you been doing this?" I'm normally at one office but today I got shipped to the old office, the one that's next to the Old Folks Home. Patients kept asking me, "how long have you been here?" Bro we have met like a dozen times, that's my marker on all your films, you weren't in The Home then but you are now so I guess no, we haven't met. Tech Week is coming up, and so is my birthday. Maybe all the patients are planning a surprise birthday party for me? Or they're planning the best tech week ever? submitted by /u/bacon_is_just_okay [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/xsms9k/xr_techs_so_how_long_have_you_been_doing_this/

Massive Uterine Fibroid

I had never heard of fibroids before. But apparently fibroids are extremely common. The size of this one is not as common and when it gets this big surgery is the next step. Have been feeling horrible for 6 months and I’m just anxious to get this thing out. Women need to talk about fibroids. It isn’t something to be ashamed of. I had none of the obvious signs. My stomach was just growing one day. It took many doctors and two MRIs to find out what was wrong. Months later finally getting the surgery I need. I recommend every woman do a small bit of research on fibroids. It may help you or someone you know one day. submitted by /u/Curiousflower5 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/xs65r2/massive_uterine_fibroid/

Foot X-rays, told “normal” by urgent care doctor and radiologist

back story, zero foot pain ever in past- was at beach last weekend and Friday I had to sprint barefoot on the dry sand to catch my toddler from running into the ocean without her floaties, I face planted in the process but got right back up sprinting till I had her in my arms- nothing hurt until I had her in my arms and ever since then I feel bad pain on my left foot when weight is on it, feels like the top of the foot but maybe radiating underneath too or is pain underneath too hard to tell. Without shoes on I cannot walk normal, have to turn my foot to the side outwards completely horizontal to make a step, with tennis shoes on I can walk with it straight but it hurts with every single step, and it hurts to flex my toes back all the way and really hurts when I attempt to put pressure like you would to stand on your toes. I was a competitive gymnast and I know aches and soreness and I am convinced something is wrong cause it does not feel right anymore. Also idk if it’s important

MRI Reports

Why are the radiologists who complete reports on MRIs unreachable to the patient? Had an MRI this weekend. The order included comparing this MRI to the one from 9 years ago (I took it to the facility and they supposedly uploaded everything). The radiologist who completed the report not only did not look at the previous scan for reference (says on the report there was nothing for comparison), their units of measurement for cysts that were found were “tiny” and “small” instead of actual verifiable, scientific numerical measurements. I called the facility and was told the ordering doctor is the one who will have to call about the issue with the report. I called the ordering doctor’s office and was told 1)they didn’t have the report yet, 2)their office was not in the business of telling radiologists how to do their job. The US healthcare system is a complete joke. submitted by /u/sasakem [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/xk10mq/mri_reports/
