MRI studying confusion

  1. What is the difference between relaxation time, dephasing and flip angle? They all have very similar definitions.
  2. The RF pulse should be equal to 42.6 in order for the angle to change, but what if the RF pulse is more than 42.6?
  3. What really is the main difference between receive coils and T/R radio frequency coils? Why would we just not always use the T/R coils only?
  4. What would be the easiest way to compare SNR IN MRI vs X-ray?
  5. What’s the purpose of free induction decay (FID)?
  6. Do we need to know general ranges of TR/TE/ETL for the registry? Sort of like how we needed to know the WW and WL for cat scan?
  7. Why does an increase in TR cause a longer relaxation time and increase T1 information (increasing fat suppression)? I thought T1 is best shown with a short TR and TE?

Do rad techs/sonographers deal with vomit often?

Hi there! I’m currently considering going to school to be a rad tech or sonographer but I’m struggling to find out if you guys deal with vomit a lot. I am emetophobic (phobia of vomit) and, while I think I’d like these jobs a lot, it does worry me to think about having to deal with it often. Thank you for your help! submitted by /u/pootscoot1 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/p5y0aa/do_rad_techssonographers_deal_with_vomit_often/
