Suggestions appreciated

This is such a ridiculous question, but I’m curious on what others think. I work at a small critical access hospital as a CT tech. Years before, I worked at a teaching trauma level I hospital. There I met many radiology residents. The president of the radiology group who reads for our hospital now was one of those residents. Over the years we kept in touch off and on as friends. He helped me through an incredibly difficult time. At some point, he decided he didn’t want to have anything to do with me. I don’t know why or when, and he won’t say, but that’s besides the point. My problem now is that he has asked me to not contact him anymore for any reason, including patients. This will become a problem when I have a stroke patient and he’s assigned to read for us (they’re not on site). Or a dissection, or PE, etc. I refuse to try and find a third party to communicate between us when I’ve got a stroke patient waiting for help. I would like to diffuse and find the cause of the problem, but I can’t do that because I’m not allowed to reach out to him. My manager hasn’t been helpful. How can a radiologist refuse to communicate with a tech about patient care? Especially without expressed cause?
