I understand there was once a time where this job was done by films, which makes perfect sense.
In the first digital age, older computer monitors also respond terribly to glare from other light sources and could obstruct important pathologies from your reading. That also makes sense.
But the new monitors coming out have incredibly clear displays with a good defense against glare. And if you place your monitor’s back directly in front of a window, there’s no chance of glare assuming there are no other light sources.
So why do you guys insist on reading only in the dark in 2021?
What specifically about other light sources make it risky to have them on?
