Hi all! I recently did a shadowing shift in the DEXA scanner within my workplace. However, I noticed that the room didn’t have a lead screen or any kind of protection for the operator. I was told this is because the dose is so low that it isn’t necessary but I’m still a little worried. Paediatric hospitals use tiny doses in their x ray rooms yet I’m sure they use lead shielding? I just wanted to ask if this is normal or if people on here do use lead shielding in DEXA in their departments?
