I am currently a rad tech student and have the opportunity for a student position in a cath lab that would transition into a job post-graduation/certification. I've looked online and have spoken to a couple of techs about what to expect and have heard about the amount of on-call and hard work.
I want to hear from more people about the ups-and-downs and ins-and-outs of what its like to work as a rad tech in a cardiac cath lab.
What are signs of a good/bad department? What is "average" for work expectation, what would be red flags?
I am in the midwest in a metro area.
