Has anyone looked into Peter gleeson's concept of using tube angulation as a tool for more accurate collimation. Stress cardiomyopathy

Stress cardiomyopathy, also called broken heart syndrome or Takotsubo syndrome, is characterized by an abnormal left ventricular contraction pattern (severe left ventricular dysfunction) and is typically caused by a physical or emotional stress too big for the heart to bear. These clips were obtained during an echocardiogram. The left ventricle is supposed to contract uniformly but, in this case, only the base of it contracts (inferior part near the mitral valve/left atrium). This pattern is characteristic of stress cardiomyopathy, following a difficult intubation in this case. The pathology is completely reversible and it isn’t caused by an abnormal flow in the coronary arteries. So yeah, you can basically die of a broken heart. submitted by /u/National-Question491 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/15e47i3/stress_cardiomyopathy/

New series of Takeshi’s Castle (MXC) on Amazon features X-Ray Tech Team

If you know this show, or found it because of MXC American version on SpikeTV, there are new episodes on Prime, and one of the teams are X-Ray techs. I just started it, but this caught my eye in episode one. It says Radiologists, but earlier they were listed as X-Ray techs. If you know what this is, you’re welcome. Radiology referrals?

I would appreciate some advice from my radiologic friends. I am a family doctor, primarily working in urgent care that I do several per diem primary shifts monthly. My question is why I can’t use a radiologist like any other specialty consultation. While most of my work involves pretty simple things like chest x-rays and basic orthopedic films, and I do have ready access to the radiology tech who is often very helpful, we get a fair amount of more complicated presentations that require next level imaging. Almost without fail I will get my request wrong which involves a tech at the hospital calling back to have me change an order for issues of nomenclature, hospital specific protocol differences and occasionally for just ordering the wrong test when a different test would’ve been a better choice. A good recent example was a patient with hematuria and chronic left flank pain. Ultrasonography didn’t show anything abnormal and I ordered a CT urogram, in part because our EMR had it in a

The one ring?

Pt came in to the ER tonight feeling like he got kicked in the chest while he was napping, he thinks it was his defibrillator going off. I’m just a curious night shift tech wondering if his lateral view is showing the ring around the artery sign. Most images I’ve seen of the sign show it around the pulmonary artery so the ring is much larger. Even though it’s small in this image, it looks very distinctly like a dark ring to me. submitted by /u/mollymoo34 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/15926ps/the_one_ring/

Is CI AKI real ? How long after contrast can it happen ? How do we know the patient is out of the woods ?

Hello , is CI AKI real , has any one seen it happen to patients with normal renal function ? Does it effect the bilirubin or the liver ? Does it effect the heart ? This is for a normal healthy patient with just hypertension ? How long does it take for the system to get completely rid of the contrast . It does mention that reactions can happen after 16 days too. Embolized venous fistulas using Onyx glue

These are my embolized venous fistulas at left T11 & T8. I’m still suffering symptoms of a csf leak, so there are likely more fistulas in my back, but I’m thankful to have had transvenous embolization as my treatment for these two. The doctor went in through a femoral vein up to the level of the fistulas where he then injected Onyx glue to occlude the vein. This treatment was only invented in 2020 by an interventional neuroradiologist at Mayo Clinic- prior to that, I would’ve had to have open back surgery to locate and seal off veins that were siphoning off my cerebrospinal fluid! submitted by /u/megg33 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/157hdf0/embolized_venous_fistulas_using_onyx_glue/
