How relevant are those "blank scan is the equivalent to this amount of time on a plane flight or this amount of time in the sun" type infographics?
Whenever people question the safety of getting xrays or scans done I almost always see someone bring out the amount of radiation and then compare that to how many hours of sunlight or plane ride its equivalent too.
The most recent one I saw was someone saying getting a dental CBCT is like a fraction of a couple hours flight. Is that true? There are people that fly around for a living, is it really the same as getting like 2-3 scans a day or something?
people always talk about radiation concerns from x-rays but literally no one ever brings up flight or sun time numbers.
