For those those who left being a rad tech to a new career, what did you do?

I've only been a rad tech for one year, so I know shouldn't be expecting to make a lot right away, but I'm starting to doubt if our career is really financially viable. I keep hearing about how nurses get crazy sign-on bonuses, and can easily gross 6 figures for example. Same thing in tech and engineering fields. But tech wages seem to be rather stagnant... especially if Amazon warehouses and stuff are hiring at 25+ an hour.... Not that I'm saying they should get paid less, but it's starting to feel like our career is kinda pointless if our wages are going nowhere. Not to mention the rampant inflation going on and I have yet to see any signs of a good raise incoming.

I'm thinking about learning MRI to hopefully get a better job/salary, but I'm not sure if I should stay as a tech at all if we're gonna be left behind. Has anybody switched to something else like nursing? Or should I get out of healthcare entirely if the government will keep cutting funds? My family wants me to try to go to medical school but rad tech degrees don't really prepare you to write the MCAT or anything like that. But I have no debt and some savings... so I think I could possibly go back to school one more time.

AI for radiology - A survey

Hello folks! We are a group of students from Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University (Sweden). We are conducting a short survey (it should not take more than 10 minutes of your time) to evaluate an Artificial Intelligence framework for evaluating medical imaging and, in particular, the effect that explainability can have on clinicians' attitudes toward it. We welcome anyone who interacts with medical imaging to take our survey, so please, feel free to do it even if you are still a student or an intern! If you know someone who works in the field, please, pass them the survey. It would help us greatly. https://bit.ly/RTEX_survey Thanks in advance to all of you! submitted by /u/francozzz [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/r2ratp/ai_for_radiology_a_survey/
