Difficulty with pressure of having someone watch over you as a student.

Hello All, I am a 2nd year Rad Tech student currently doing my second clinical rotation at a outpatient diagnostic center. My first rotation was in a hospital and I had much less that I was allowed to comped level however,I did not struggle as much. At this new site there are 3 different machines here all with different ways to operate and pull up the patient. I have a hard time whenever I catch a snag I really start to snowball and make mistakes. On my first day here I shot a PA chest at 40” getting confused with my mobile AP minimum distance and also shot an X-ray with the door open (which shouldn’t of even been allowed to happen) and the Techs were wary of letting me do things by my self that I have already comped.(Rightfully so) Most of the techs have loosened up expect one she will not let me do anything in the room without questioning my every move. I really have a hard time focusing and keeping on track with someone chirping at me and asking me questions the entire time. Most

Ct scan paused

So I was having a ct scan on my kidneys but in the middle of it they paused it because the doctor canceled the test and ordered a new 1 but so they stopped the scan and left me in there and I was in there for longer then usual and I started kinda panicking and getting closterphobic and there was a blue light on so should I be concerned about the blue light that was still on in there or what? submitted by /u/Front-Artichoke3700 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/vo0xpw/ct_scan_paused/

Starting my rad tech program in the fall, any good recommendations on brushing up with anatomy?

I want to make sure I’m prepared for my program, I took AP last year but I don’t feel super confident in my memory. can you guys send links and provide good updated sources I can study? Maxillary sinus cyst

I am 38 y.o. male in good health with no other issues. I have a maxillary sinus cyst (pics below) in left sinus, both dentist and endodontist say the teeth look fine and it is not tooth related but my ENT also says that the cyst is of NO consequence and NOT causing issues which are nasal pressure sometimes eye pressure but mostly a easily horse voice, if I talk for 5 minutes I feel like I had been yelling at a concert all night. I’m also a singer and this has wrecked my progress for years now. I’m trying to get other opinions as I currently have no clear course to try to get it treated. My ENT said he would try a balloon sinus procedure to maybe pop it or do full on sinus surgery and fully remove it, but he also does not think it will help me just said he would technically do it if I requested. I have ruled out allergies, heartburn, silent reflux, inside of mouth/throat , vocal cords and tonsils all look good. I’ve spent years trying to figure it out going to numerous doctors. I nee

I want to travel/live outside the US

Hello, I’m a rad tech currently living and working in the US. I have an ARRT license for Radiography, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine; and currently work in MRI and Nuc Med. I want to work travel/live outside of the US. What are my options for doing this? Will my license transfer, and what is the process for doing that? Also what are the job opportunities like for an American in a foreign country? For more info I’m specifically fond of Norway/Sweden/Finland because of my hobbies, but am not limited to those countries. submitted by /u/Jgrant0537 [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/vkdbq9/i_want_to_travellive_outside_the_us/

I’m certified in the US through ARRT and I’m looking to see how I would get certified as a rad tech in Canada. LCL/instability

Dental Hygienist/wannabe radiologist here. Lateral image taken for orthodontic consultation. Patient 30F, exploring if her Class II malocclusion is causing her increasing neck pain... I pointed out the loss of lordosis and what looks like cervical instability? (to my untrained eye) to my boss/Ortho. He didn't mention her neck to her at all and went on with the consultation/treatment suggestions. I feel it was really careless when her chief complaint was neck pain. Am I jumping the gun? Suggestions for Radiography Program Assignments

Hey all! I am new to my educator role in Radiology and I am looking for suggestions/advice. Are there any workbooks or similar assignments that you actually found helpful as a student, rather than it just being busy work you were expected to complete? I graduated from my radiography program over 15 years ago, so I feel my student experience is a little outdated. It is a hospital based certificate program, so I didn't want to go overkill and base any activities too heavily on my B.S.R.S experience. So, in short, what resources helped you learn the best? Thanks! submitted by /u/mizuhmanduh [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/viiga0/suggestions_for_radiography_program_assignments/

Modern medical image analysis

Hello all radiologists/radiographers! I'm currently developing an alternative to PACS that stands on a modern tech stack. We are including a bunch of machine learning models for segmentation and classification in the mix, although I'm, right now, more interested in knowing what you guys want/need from an image viewer tool. To this end; I'd love to hear about what's good and not with your current PACS/software. Are you missing something in particular maybe? submitted by /u/EdHerzriesig [link] [comments] source https://www.reddit.com/r/Radiology/comments/vifz6w/modern_medical_image_analysis/

For my fellow radiology residents: is there any benefit to keeping log of cases you read over residency?

I'm early in my radiology residency and I have a colleague who created an excel document logging the cases that he's read over the course of his residency. We aren't required to do for our program. Just wondering if any of you also do this and if there is any benefit to it?
